Yeah, I know, it’s been a while since I’ve posted here.
Have you ever had a “pity party”?
Well, maybe I’ve been indulging myself…forgetting what I’ ve been taught…if you’re invited to a pity party, DON’T SHOW UP!
I know, we all to through these things, but I’m old enough to know better!
When I started this blog, I had two motivations. First, I really wanted to help people get into their own goals and work to achieve them. Second, I planned to create products that would help them do that…and I would make some money. Nothing wrong with that, because I was (and am) committed to creating products (free or for a charge) that are a value.
And, I didn’t do as well at those as I had planned.
So, mini pity party.
TONIGHT, IT ALL CHANGED! I HAD A WAKE-UP CALL AT 7:15 PM! AND I WASN’T SLEEPING…or so I thought!
The rest of this post is about my first motivation.
How do I reach young people to get them serious about identifying their own life plan and achieving it?
I don’t know if it will help, but I’m going to share a bit of my life. If you’re young and “starry-eyed,” please pay attention.
I was blessed. I worked to earn a great job at a major corporation. You know, job security, great benefits, interesting work…blah, blah, blah!
I won’t tell you who I worked for because it really doesn’t matter. Business is business, and if you don’t own it, you don’t make the calls.
After almost 30 years, I was laid off. I got my retirement benefits…but they wouldn’t make my house payments!
A few months later, I was “hired” as a contract employee doing what I had done before it wasn’t needed. (??????)
I’ve been in that position for a number of years now, and tonight I had a phone call telling me that starting tomorrow when I arrive at the office, I have received a 10% pay cut!
WHERE ARE YOU IN LIFE?
I learned about goal achievement too late to avoid this mess. HAVE YOU?
Are you going to achieve your goals or are you going to let your company, the government, or whoever take care of you?
Are you an achiever or a taker?
It’s your decision.
I wrote a book because I FINALLY recognized how it works. Nobody taught me when I was young…I could have avoided a lot of problems.
I have achieved a lot of my goals because of what I talk about in my book. It ALL works!
(You can find out more about it at Launch Your Goals)
But, you can’t trust your company or someone else to do it.
TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE!
SET YOUR OWN GOALS AND PUT A PLAN IN PLACE … THAT YOU CONTROL!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackCool post. I like to read and listen to other
people’s story.
In fact, I’ve a similar blog just like yours.
And the coincidence is, I started my blog with
the reasons just like you. I hope to inspire
other people and in the same time, inspire
myself.
You’re right about change. We all need to change in order to be who we really want
to be.
Staying the same and always dangling in
our comfort zone are not going to create
amazing results for us in our life.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dale, Very inspirational post. Your story is just like so many other people that are facing layoffs right now. The good news is, you have taken control of your situation by creating something of value for others. So much has been said about the need for change lately. You make me remember that the change we all seek begins first with ourselves.
This is the perfect time of year for focusing on goals. One of mine is to share some of what I’ve learned to help me deepen my own learning while benefiting others. Check out http://newsecretlaws.com
Thanks for being so candid and generous with your insights. Keep those posts coming. I want to hear more of your story! All the Best, Abundance Rocks
