“There’s some end at last for the man who follows a path; mere rambling is interminable.” Marcus Annaeus Seneca.

On a Path to your Goal?

Which is it for you? Are you following a path or are you rambling? Marcus Annaeus Seneca really gave us a stark difference between.  Is there an end to your path?  Is it taking you to a worthwhile goal? Or, are you just embarked on interminable rambling?

Since you’re reading this, the odds are that you are on a path to a goal. People interminably rambling seldom bump into a blog site about achieving goals!

Marcus Annaeus Seneca lived around 54 BC to about 39 AD. But, he knew the importance of goals and he described it pretty bluntly. If you have an end in mind, a goal, you will choose a path that takes you, as directly as possible, to that goal.

If you don’t have a goal you will tend to wander. You don’t have a path to follow, so what else can you do.  If you happen to be on a path that someone has followed before you, you might stay there for a while. But, the odds are you’re doing it because someone else has gotten all the debris out of the way, not because you know where the path is going.  It’s just easier!

But look at the description of rambling…interminable! There’s no end! It just goes pointlessly on!

The great thing is that you get to make a choice. Choose an end and follow a path to it. Then, choose another…otherwise you’ll just be rambling from a different starting point, and it’ll still be interminable!

Go for the goal!

Note: I hope you’ve noticed that there is a “Goal Quotations” block on the left side of this site. Check it out each time you come here; there will be different quotations showing up regularly to help inspire you.
