Positive affirmations seem like hocus pocus. Are they, or are they a tool you should be using?

Affirmations, Can They Help You Achieve Goals?

I was just bumping around a blog written by Jennifer at My Power of Focus. She has a great post on this subject, which must mean I agree with her! I do, but she expressed it well.

Some people call “positive affirmations” something else. They call it “self talk.” Since I have spent many years in working in the computer industry, I like another term…programming your own mind.

That’s what you really do. Scientists have found physical evidence of something that many people have known all along. Self talk works! Your subconscious mind listens to your voice first. It believes everything you tell it. Over time, it will start guiding your actions to accomplish whatever it has come to believe.

Now, think about that…do you mutter “I can’t…” or do you say strongly “I can…”? Someone is listening, that someone is you!

Your subconscious hears everything that hits your ears. You’ve probably heard “You can’t…” thousands more times than “You can…”! Don’t worry about what you’ve heard in the past, start telling yourself the truth…YOU CAN!

You can reach your goals; you can blast off to your dreams. Don’t wait until you believe it to say it aloud; say it aloud and you will believe it!
