Goals are much more effective when they’re written down. Every book I’ve read about success principles and achieving your goals emphasizes the importance of writing them, in fact, some experts recommend actually writing them in longhand rather than typing them on a computer.

Write Your Goals

I believe that part of the reason for this is that the goals become more real when you see them written out. Thoughts are things, but they’re not physical things. When you write your thoughts down they take on a physical nature. They become more real.

The goals also become more real when they’re written because they now involve one of our physical senses. We see them with our eyes and they are more real. If we read them aloud, we can involve our sense of hearing too and add even more weight to the goals.

Write them down, read them aloud, put them where you can see them, and you will be less likely to forget them!
