In my last post I introduced the idea that confidence is important to your goal achievement. Today we’re going to start exploring a little more detail about how that works…and, hopefully, how you can make it work for you!
Let’s start with the people you spend time with…you know, who do you hang around with? They’re probably nice people and you like them. I accept that…but, how’s their attitude?
If you’re a parent, you’ve watched closely who your kids hang out with. You know that your child will pick up attitudes and habits of the people they associate with…so you watch, and guide. (If you don’t have kids yet, remember how your parents did that with you? If you do, thank them the next time you see them!
You need to start by making a real effort to spend time with confident people. Their vigor and strength is so stirring that you will feel more powerful just by listening to them talk.
If you want to build confidence it is vital that you surround yourself with self-assured people. This will help you derive confidence from them.
Part of this is automatic…but what if you can’t link their confidence to yourself? What then?
You’re going to think this is too simple…or stupid. That’s OK, I’m going to tell you anyway.
All you have to do is ask them for good confidence tips. Tell them how you notice their confidence and ask them how they got it.
Here’s a free tip…if they can’t tell you, it’s an act. If they give you a thoughtful answer, pay attention! They are sharing a true “nugget”!
Stay tuned, there are more hints and suggestions coming!
